This policy describes the current Wordle Helper website at wordlehelper.org. Checkout and paid-account activation are not available yet. We will update this policy before introducing payment or account systems that process additional information.
1. Puzzle inputs and screenshots
Puzzle filtering, guess analysis, and screenshot recognition run in your browser. We do not upload your chosen puzzle screenshot to a server for recognition. OCR libraries or language files may be downloaded from external content-delivery services; those services may receive ordinary network information, such as your IP address, when serving those files.
A board transferred between pages may be kept briefly in session storage on your device. We do not operate a server-side screenshot archive.
2. Browser storage and replay links
We use local browser storage for preferences such as word length, pinned panels, the Practice introduction, and your analytics choice. You can clear these preferences through your browser's site-data settings.
Scoredle replay links encode the answer, guesses, word length, and output format in the URL fragment. The fragment is not sent as part of an ordinary HTTP request, but anyone with the link can read the game, and scripts running on a page may access its URL. Share only information you intend to make public.
3. Analytics and cookies
We use Vercel Web Analytics, Google Analytics 4, and Microsoft Clarity to understand usage and improve the tools. Analytics may process page URLs, usage events, browser or device details, and approximate location. Google Analytics and Clarity may use cookies and similar technologies.
The site checks your country using GeoJS to determine whether to ask for consent before loading cookie-based analytics. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, these analytics wait for your choice. If the country lookup fails, we ask first. In other regions, they may load automatically, and the choice is recorded in local storage.
Where the consent banner is shown, you can accept or reject optional analytics. Clear the site's saved data to revisit the choice, and use your browser's privacy settings to restrict cookies or tracking. Previously collected analytics data is not removed merely by clearing browser storage.
4. Hosting and service providers
Vercel hosts the website, and Cloudflare provides DNS. Hosting, analytics, and other infrastructure providers may process request metadata such as IP addresses, timestamps, browser details, and requested URLs for delivery, security, or reporting. Provider processing and retention are governed by their policies and applicable law.
5. Contact messages and payments
If you email us, your email address and the information you provide are used to respond to your request. Avoid sending passwords, card numbers, or sensitive personal information. Our upgrade page currently collects no payment information and does not create an account or subscription. A future payment provider and its data handling will be disclosed before checkout is enabled.
6. Your questions and rights
You can contact us about this policy or applicable rights, including access, correction, or deletion of information you have provided. Browser-only preferences can be removed on your own device; we cannot identify your local puzzle state from a support email alone.
7. Policy updates
We may update this policy as the website changes. The date above identifies this version. Material changes to payment processing, accounts, or advertising-related data handling will be reflected here before those services launch.
